The four-letter prefix ESPU appears at the start of ISO container identification numbers and is associated with Emirates Shipping Line.
A complete container number combines the owner prefix, six-digit serial number, and check digit. The prefix identifies registered equipment ownership and does not always identify the carrier currently transporting the container.
Use the CargoEnter container validator to check the number structure before starting shipment tracking.
ESPU container number format
A container number starting with ESPU has the four-letter prefix, a six-digit serial number, and one check digit, for example ESPU1234567.
Who uses ESPU containers
ESPU is registered to Emirates Shipping Line. Leased or exchanged equipment can move with a different shipping line, so the prefix alone does not identify the carrier of a shipment.
