CNCU Container Prefix Owner

CNCU is a container owner code associated with CMA CGM. Learn how BIC container prefixes identify equipment owners and operators.

Prefix
CNCU
Owner or operator
CMA CGM

The four-letter prefix CNCU appears at the start of ISO container identification numbers and is associated with CMA CGM.

A complete container number combines the owner prefix, six-digit serial number, and check digit. The prefix identifies registered equipment ownership and does not always identify the carrier currently transporting the container.

Use the CargoEnter container validator to check the number structure before starting shipment tracking.

CNCU container number format

A container number starting with CNCU has the four-letter prefix, a six-digit serial number, and one check digit, for example CNCU1234567.

Who uses CNCU containers

CNCU is registered to CMA CGM. Leased or exchanged equipment can move with a different shipping line, so the prefix alone does not identify the carrier of a shipment.
